Please join us on Saturday, June 2nd, for camaraderie, good food, picturesque touring and a walk on the wild side as we visit Jackson State Prison's Cell Block 7 museum, located inside the walls of what was once the world's largest walled prison.
Our day begins at the Big Boy restaurant, 1610 S. Main St., Chelsea, Michigan 48118. Arrive early enough to enjoy a leisurely meal with your fellow club members.
10 AM is our step-off time for the drive to the prison. The route is very scenic and the road is in excellent condition. Posted speed limit is 45 mph.
Once at the prison museum, we'll have a guided tour of what used to be the intake facility. All incoming "correctional clients" were processed, cleaned up, and housed here. Admission $10. www.cellblock7.org
PLEASE NOTE: Recording devices, cameras, and cell phones are prohibited and should be kept in your locked vehicle.
Following the museum tour, we'll visit Amanati's Frosty Boy, 1201 Cooper St., Jackson, Michigan, located just 4 minutes away with direct access to I-94.
