PRIDE in the Park Car Show

Hey Dogwoodies,

 

It is that time of the year where we come out and show our pride for who we are and to celebrate those who fought for our rights to do so.

 

Atlanta Pride is October 11th through the 13th and in our club’s tradition we will be a part of the weekend’s festivities.

 

We will be spending Saturday in the park with some of our beloved cars and close friends enjoying the weather and the eye candy of all types while trying not to brag too much about the compliments we received from the attendees about our cars. We have room for approximately 22 cars to display and promote our club and its mission. Registration is required and begins on 10/1/2024 and there is no fee. You can contact Erin Quinn @ scouta01@aol.com if you have any questions. We will meet at Ansley Mall on Saturday 10/12 around 9:30 to 10 to line up for our caravan to the park. We are scheduled to enter the park at or around 10:30, we must wait for all the vendors to be in place and out of the pathway for us to enter, this as we know seems to be a problem every year and I’m sure this one will be no different. However, we will hold to our plan and schedule with the thought that all will go as planned.

 

The big event is on Sunday the 13th, our annual Atlanta Pride Parade. This year we have been asked for approximately six convertibles with the minimum of two being domestic for elected officials. Full convertible Jeeps are also welcome, and some participants prefer them. Although the pride committee has only requested six, I would prefer a few extra due to the fact we are in an election year and with the possibility of logistical problems or breakdowns happening I would love to have 2 to 3 on standby. As in the past those providing a car for the parade will receive an Atlanta Pride Premium (VIP) pass and general admission ticket for the Kickoff Party and the Georgia Aquarium. This event is a good way for us to promote our club and to be part of the southeast’s largest pride parade. Question and registrations can be directed to Erin via email at any time.

                               

Also, if any member would like to participate in the event but do not want to bring a car the club can always use your help. We always need help tending the booth at the car show as well as helping make the parade run smoothly with logistical support.
