The Saturday ahead of Michigan’s ritziest car show has become home to another event that couldn’t be more different. If you’re a fan of the odd, strange and vehicular, then you’ll probably enjoy the Concours d’Lemons.
In their own words, Concours d’Lemons brings hoopties, rust buckets, misfits, mistakes and the worst of the automotive world to the Concours of the America's weekend in Michigan. The oddities that appear at these events are baffling, and rest assured you’ll see something that will make you smile and scratch your head. This is the kind of show where advancing mileage, patina and creative repair may be badges of distinction rather than disqualification, and cars that were barely a footnote in history can have their day in the sun.
The Concours d'Lemons Michigan will take place on July 28, 2018 at the Inn at St. John's, from 8:00am – 1:30pm. It’s hosted on the east corner of the golf course in a spot that’s often overlooked, which seems somehow fitting. The show is totally free to participants and passers-by, and it’s good to consider arriving a bit closer to 8:00 if you are planning to show a car. They also request that you register on their website (link below).
At the moment, there are no plans to have an LCC lunch following the event, but if there’s interest, please reach out to our host Bret Scott, and he’ll arrange something nearby.
See everyone there!
